Kristian Butterfield
Kristian started his career in the defense industry after receiving a BA in Philosophy and Creative Writing from Florida State University. His first defense contracting role was to lead Communications for KBOSSS's Program Management Office headquartered at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. He went on to serve as the Marketing and Communications Manager and then Assistant Program Manager at Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE as a part of TO-34 supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
While overseas, Kristian began investing in digital asset (cryptocurrency) and public equity markets. In 2020, Kristian returned stateside and pursued the curation of his portfolio full-time. By 2021, returns from the portfolio exceeded 7 figures with a return of over 5,000%; exposure to different markets, including derivatives, real estate, and private equity soon followed. Kristian's unique experience as a private defense industry player and a seasoned investor positions him as uniquely qualified to understand the needs of both sides of Sofge Capital Partners' customer base.
Aside from his work at SCP, Kristian is a published poet (his first collection, The Warm and Quiet, was published in 2025), an active musician, and an avid outdoorsman.
